The
theater at the ground floor the NCCA is
descent and comfortable for the viewers. It’s good to watch the old episodes of
Tipong Pinoy, which was more than ten years ago. The logo of the GMA TV network
at that time is still the rainbow. The NCCA doesn’t create shows like this
anymore but they have kept copies of the old shows.
The
architecture in the Philippines is so beautiful and this is exemplified by the
baroque churches such as the Manila Cathedral and the San Agustin Church. In
one episode of Tipong Pinoy,The Walled City of Intramuros houses three large
universities such as Mapua, Letran and Lyceum, but didn’t include the
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila The People’s University. Famous Filipino
painters Juan Luna and Felix Resurreccion-Hidalgo garner first and second
awards in international competitions for paintings. The Spolarium of Juan Luna
gained the first place award. Fernando
Amorsolo is also a great painter just like Juan Luna and Hidalgo.
The Musueo Pambata 10 years ago is already
beautiful. This is what you describe as a modern museum. The architecture
students are urged to preserve or renovate buildings aged 50 years and more.
The altars of churches shouldn’t be
replaced and restructured, but renovated and preserved instead. Architecture is not just for development, but
for preservation as well. In Intramuros, there are only two churches left.
Before the World War 2, there are more than two but the bombing of Intramuros
has severely damaged many structures inside the walled city.
